Watch and Act: Bumble Hill Fire (Wyong)

UPDATE:

The alert level for this fire has dropped to Advice.

Conditions are easing, which is helping more than sixty firefighters and six water bombing aircraft gain the upper hand on the fire burning between Bumble Hill Road and Forest Road.

While firefighters are working close to homes, the immediate threat to properties has eased.

The fire continues to slowly move in an easterly direction.

Please be aware that embers may be blown ahead of the fire, creating spot fires. These spot fires may threaten your home earlier than the main fire front.

The fire is generating large amounts of smoke and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and should be aware that local roads are subject to closure.

A southerly change is expected on Christmas morning, which will blow smoke towards Yarramalong.

There is a bush fire burning in the Kulnura area, north west of Wyong.

The fire is moving in an easterly direction through bushland near Bumble Hill Road and Forest Road.

Fifty firefighters and water bombing aircraft are on scene protecting properties on Bumble Hill Road and Forest Road.

Under these conditions, fires can be difficult to control. Embers may be blown ahead of the fire, creating spot fires. These spot fires may threaten your home earlier than the predicted main fire front.

The fire is generating large amounts of smoke and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
