Massive Hole in Coburg Street, East Gosford

Gosford City Council is urgently assessing the chasm in Coburg Street, which is about 8 by 12 metres wide and 6 metres deep.

Council operations manager Michael Redrup says the hole opened up yesterday because of a fault in a large sewer main triggered by the rain.

The area has been closed off and crews are working to secure the site.
